Bran watched the sun setting, vanishing behind the pink and orange dusted clouds. He sighed heavily as his tummy grumbled, a scowl showing up on his face.
He had spent most of his day sun-bathing on his favourite place at the edge of a cliff. Somehow, while he daydreamed around, his hunger had completely been pushed to the back of his mind which left him with no choice but to go hunting now, even though he would've preferred to just sleep now.
Bran stood up and stretched, a small yawn escaping him. His limps were slightly sore from not moving them most of the day but that soon changed after he jumped into the cold water, the liquid soothing the pain until it completely faded away.
Leisurely and not quite interested in hunting, the only thing that pushed him forward was his hunger.
Bran looked around in the dark water, spotting a few fishes here and there, though not one of them would suffice him. He decided to swim a bit deeper, knowing that the bigger fishes were waiting there, unknowing of the danger he was. His strong tail pushed him forward until he reached a reef were he instantly spotted a fat, colourful fish. It didn't see him as it was swimming around quite slowly. Bran knew that this was his chance and therefore slowed his pace, slowly but surely getting closer and closer to his target. When he was only a mere horns length away, the fish felt his presence and turned around just in time to see Bran's mouth closing around him.
His sharp teeth bore into the soft flesh of the fish and it soon died, whilst Bran happily swam up to the surface again. He almost opened his mouth when he felt something touch his tail. Panic flooded him, as he very well knew that no usual fish would dare to touch him. Bran swivelled around, his eyes wide as he stared at the form of the big shark circling around him. It's eyes glazed as it came back to once again swim to him.
Without so much as a second thought, Bran turned around and gave it his all as he hurried away from the shark that obviously wanted to eat him.
But he knew that he would never be fast enough, the shore was still too far away. So in one fluid movement, Bran once again turned around, faced the shark and swim in his direction. The shark was startled but opened it's mouth, expecting his prey to come to him.
Though that was definitely not Bran's plan. One strong push of his tail pushed him downwards, his horn scrapping the sharks underside.
The big grey creature let out a strangled noise before it moved around wildly and then flew from Bran, a trail of blood n the water behind him.
Still partially gripped by the panic, Bran swam as fast as he could to the shore. When he felt the sand scrape his belly, he stood up and ran the rest of the way out of the water until he collapsed a good few feet away from the water. He let the dead fish fall out of his mouth and panted. A smile played around his lips, he was very proud of himself for scaring away the shark.
His left hand gripped the fat fish happily as he calmed down and came down from his adrenaline high.
Bran had to admit: A plain fish had never before tasted so damn good.
Bran's first real adventure, being hunted by a big meannie shark *sniff*
